Privacy Policy

About this policy

FixCalm operates this online hardware store for customers in Australia. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you browse, place an order, contact us or make a privacy request. It describes our practices for Australian customers without asserting that every provision of the Australian Privacy Principles applies to our business in every circumstance. You can use Your Privacy Choices to send a request through a working contact form, or email us directly.

Information we collect and how

When you check out or contact us, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, order details, messages, return information and the contents of a privacy request. We receive order status, payment confirmation, delivery and fraud-prevention information from Shopify and providers involved in your transaction. Payment providers process card or other payment credentials; please do not send full card numbers or security codes to us. Shopify and store technology may collect IP address, device and browser details, identifiers, pages viewed, cart and checkout events, and cookie or privacy preferences. Information may come directly from you, automatically from your browser, or from providers helping complete an order.

Why we use information

We use this information to run the store, provide cart and checkout functions, accept and fulfil orders, process payments and refunds, communicate order updates, answer questions, handle returns and privacy requests, prevent fraud, keep the service secure, maintain records and meet applicable legal obligations. If information needed for an order is not provided, we may be unable to complete delivery or provide requested support. You can browse many pages without giving us your name, but an order or records request may require enough information to identify the relevant transaction.

Who receives information

Shopify hosts and supports the store. Payment processors, delivery and fulfilment providers, technical support and security providers receive information needed for their services. A provider may receive your delivery address to ship an order or transaction details to process a payment. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably needed to protect the store, customers or others, and in a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards.

Cookies, advertising and marketing choices

Necessary cookies support the cart, checkout and security. Other technologies, if enabled, can remember preferences, measure store use or support advertising. Advertising pixels and services such as Google Ads, analytics, remarketing or enhanced conversions may receive online identifiers or, where enabled, protected customer identifiers for measurement; hashing alone does not necessarily make information anonymous. Available Shopify privacy or cookie controls and your browser settings can manage applicable optional technologies. Reading this policy or closing a notice is not consent to optional tracking. If we send direct marketing, use its unsubscribe option or contact us to opt out; order and service messages may still be sent. We will handle direct marketing choices as required by applicable Australian law.

Map and external services

Our homepage and Contact page directly load an OpenStreetMap map for our correspondence address. OpenStreetMap receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details when that map loads. A separate Google Maps link sends technical information to Google only if you open it. Their own privacy policies describe their handling of that information.

Overseas processing and disclosure

Our correspondence address is in the United States. Shopify and the payment, delivery and technical providers used for the store may handle or receive information outside Australia, including when you communicate with our US contact address. Provider processing locations can vary, and we cannot accurately name every other destination from the store information currently available. Contact us if you need more information about a particular disclosure. Where Australian overseas-disclosure rules apply, we will take the steps required in the circumstances; this statement does not claim that every transfer is certified or protected by a particular mechanism.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for orders, support, accounting, legal obligations, fraud prevention and dispute handling. The period depends on the record and applicable requirements; we do not promise one universal deletion date. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards and ask service providers to protect information for their roles, but no system can guarantee absolute security. When information is no longer needed, we assess deletion or de-identification in light of legal and operational requirements.

Access, correction and other requests

You may ask us for access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Tell us what records or correction you seek using Your Privacy Choices, email support@fixcalm.com or call +1 (540) 987-8989. You may also ask about deletion or marketing preferences; the available response depends on the law and our need to keep transaction or legal records. We may verify identity or an agent’s authority before disclosing or changing records, but will not ask for a card security code or password. We will explain a lawful refusal or practical limitation and how to follow up.

Complaints and contact

If you have a concern about how we handled your information, contact us through the privacy request form, support@fixcalm.com or +1 (540) 987-8989. Describe the issue and how we can respond. We will review the complaint and explain our response. If the Australian Privacy Principles apply to the issue and you are dissatisfied with our response, or we do not respond within 30 days, you may consider a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, subject to its jurisdiction and process. Our mailing address is 10 Trotter Cir, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22407, United States. It is a correspondence address, not a retail store or automatic return destination.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices materially change and show the current date above. For more information, see Contact and FAQ.
